Create a Consistent Routine

Mealtime Cues-Use a consistent phrase like “Puppy, puppy, puppy!” when feeding (this is what we do) If you continue this, your puppy will quickly learn it means food time

 

Set Up for a Good Night’s Sleep

Give your puppy playtime earlier in the evening to burn energy

Keep things calm and quiet right before bed

An overtired or overly excited puppy may struggle to settle

 

Potty Training Basics

Take your puppy out:

Right after waking up

After eating

After playtime

Let them stay outside a little longer—even after they go Puppies often go twice, and rushing can lead to accidents

Early consistency = faster potty training success

 

Keep Their World Small at First

Limit space for the first few days

Too much freedom too quickly can feel overwhelming

Start with a safe, enclosed area and expand gradually

Build Confidence (After Settling In)

Once comfortable, gently introduce:

New sights and sounds

Different environments
